Butterworth woman beaten to death by stick

A 40-year-old Butterworth man is due in court on Wednesday for the murder of his girlfriend.

Police Captain Jackson Manatha says the man was arrested on Monday at Yako informal settlement.

He says the man allegedly used a stick to beat the 39-year-old woman to death.

Her identity has not yet been released.

The motive for the murder is not yet known.
