A brave Eastern Cape couple turned the tables on a man who broke into their Butterworth home in the early hours of Thursday morning.
Police spokesperson, captain Jackson Manatha, says the suspect, who demanded cellphones and money, was overpowered while raping the home-owners 32-year-old wife.
He says the suspect was taken to hospital for treatment for injuries sustained during the incident.
Manatha says the 30-year-old man will appear in court on Friday on charges of rape, robbery and malicious damage to property.
