Port Elizabeth police are investigating a case of murder after the body of a 50 year old man was found in Ford Frederick street in Central on Friday morning. The victim had a pillow over his head.
The motive for the murder as well as the identity of the victim is unknown
Police are also investigating two cases of culpable homicide, after two pedestrians were killed on the city's roads on Thursday night.
Police spokesperson, captain Johan Rheeder says a 13-year old girl was killed on the corner of Albany road and Govan Mbeki avenue, after she was hit by a silver Volkswagen Polo.
He says she died at the scene.
Rheeder says in the second incident, a man was hit by a brand new Audi while crossing N2 near Livingston Hospital.
Meanwhile, the search for a man, who went missing while swimming in the sea off Shark Rock pier in Port Elizabeth, continues on Friday.
Captain Rheeder says lifeguards watched, as the 50-year old man was swimming on Thursday, but lost sight of him after a while.
He says its suspected that a strong southerly current took the man towards Cape Receife.
Rheeder says police and the National Sea Rescue Institute are conducting the search.
