Three City-to-City buses have been set alight in Butterworth in the Eastern Cape.
Police Captain Jackson Manatha says the bus drivers were sleeping at a nearly hotel at the time of the incident on Sunday.
He says a case of malicious damage to property is being investigated.
Manatha says the damage is estimated to be around R4 million.
No arrests have yet been made.
