Buffalo city to host police delegation form Germany

Buffalo City Metro is playing host to a visiting police delegation from the German federal state of Lower Saxony.

The delegation, led by the president of Saxony's police ministry, Uwe Binias, was welcomed yesterday by Eastern Cape Safety MEC, Helen Sauls-August and Buffalo City Mayor, Zukiswa Ncitha.

Buffalo City and the German province have a long-standing twinning agreement.

Sauls-August says they've concluded protocol agreements with the German police in a bid to improve policing in the Eastern Cape.

"We have raised the number of areas within the protocol that was signed, areas of police visibility, reduction in crime as well as enhancing the oversight of the police. It's those areas that we are primarily looking into to see how the process will go forward to ensure that the Eastern Cape benefits from more effective policing" Sauls-August said.
