Buffalo City municipal workers toyi-toyed outside the East London International Convention Centre on Friday, where Buffalo City mayor Zukiswa Ncitha, delivered her maiden state of the city address.
Samwu Buffalo City chairperson, William Sincayi, says they went to the ICC to raise their concerns with the mayor because previous attempts to meet her had failed.
He says municipal workers are demanding salaries and wages to match Buffalo City's metropolitan status.
Sincayi says Samwu is also demanding that the municipality employ casual workers permanently.
The executive mayor said she will raise the union's concerns with her mayoral committee.
