Buffalo City Metro's new mayor, Alfred Mtsi and his deputy, Xola Phakati, will be sworn in at a special council meeting on Thursday.
Last week, the ANC effectively sacked Zukiswa Ncitha and her deputy Themba Tinta, in a reshuffle decided recently at an ANC Provincial Executive Committee meeting in Nelson Mandela Bay.
The ANC Provincial Spokesperson Mlibo Qoboshiyane announced that they have deployed Mtsi, who was a member of the Provincial Legislature and Phakati, the chairperson of the Portfolio Committee on Economic Development.
The Democratic Alliance's Caucus leader on the municipality, Terrence Ritz, applauded the ANC for their decision. He says service delivery has become hampered, because internal fights within the municipality. He went on to say the Committee should have intervened a long time ago and that he has heard good news about the replacements.
