The case against Brent Cunningham in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates' Court, has been postponed until Friday.
Cunningham appeared again this morning on charges related to the alleged assault on his father on Sunday.
He was arrested on Sunday afternoon after the alleged incident in Lorraine.
During Tuesday's proceedings, his attorney, Danie Gouws, says Cunningham intends staying with his mother if he is granted bail, and that he is no longer welcome in his father's house.
Cunningham has a previous conviction of assault with the intent to do grievous bodily harm for an earlier attack on his father, and one pending case for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend.
He remains in custody in the St. Albans prison.
