Striking Nelson Mandela Bay Municipal workers earlier blocked Harrower Road in Port Elizabeth causing disruptions to traffic.
Municipality spokesperson, Roland Williams, says about 45 drivers in the cleansing department used their refuse trucks to block the road.
He has condemned what he said was unacceptable behaviour adding that its probably the reason why garbage has not been collected.
"There are issues that they say they have with the "Task job evaluation" system. If that is the case there are forums where this can be discussed. We have a local labour forum. We have continuous engagement with both the Unions Samu and Umatu, so this type of behaviour is unacceptable and will not be tolerated" he said.
