Police have launched a manhunt for five armed suspects who stole a state vehicle from the offices of COGTA ( Department of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs) in Bhisho.
Spokesperson for Provincial Traffic Unathi Binqose says the brazen robbery took place in the early hours of Monday.
He says five men in balaclavas entered the premises where the security personnel were held hostage.
The men demanded to be shown the fleet management office, where they took the keys to a white double cab Nissan Navara (number plate - GGL 472 EC) and used official tags to drive off with it.
Binqose says this is the 10th state vehicle stolen or hijacked this year alone.
Nobody was injured in the robbery.
