A man arrested in Port Elizabeth two weeks ago, made his first appearance in the Paarl Magistrate's Court on Thursday in connection with the murder of his pregnant girlfriend, Nicola Pienaar.
Thirty-two-year-old Jacobus Oosthuizen was arrested in Port Elizabeth on a vehicle theft charge for being in possession of Pienaar's mother's car.
The matter was transfered to Paarl last week where he now faces additional charges of murder and a charge of fraud.
Oosthuizen had pointed out to police where he had buried Pienaar's body in the yard of his house in Paarl.
He initially told police investigators that he had dropped her off in Oudtshoorn after an argument.
Paarl police spokesperson, Liouse Du Plessis, says Oosthuizen's case was postponed to the 17th of March for further investigation.
