An East London policeman accused of killing his estranged girlfriend and champion boxer Leighandre-Baby Lee-Jegels has died in hospital.
The unknown officer from the Tactical Response Unit sustained injuries in a fatal car accident after fleeing the murder scene.
He was supposed to appear in court on Monday.
Baby Lee, who was training for her comeback match in October was gunned down on Friday.
Her mom, who was also shot, was critically injured.
A spokesperson for the Independent Police Directorate Sontaga Seisa confirmed the death.
