The Kouga Municipality says both lanes at the Sand River bridge in St Francis Bay have been completed.
The bridge recently collapsed after heavy rain.
Spokesperson, Laura-Leigh Randall says the contractors have, however, asked their Traffic Department to continue operating it on a stop-and-go basis for now.
She says there is a lot of traffic, including heavy vehicles, and they would like to monitor the bridge for a while to ensure everything is 100% before opening it fully to two-lane traffic.
