Border cricket mourns death of young coach

Border Cricket is mourning the tragic passing of Siviwe Hlatuka, the Alice Regional Performance Centre Head Coach.

He was 33 years old.

Hlatuka was shot and seriously injured on Saturday when he was caught up in an armed robbery while visiting a shopping mall in Alice.

He was rushed to hospital and passed away that evening.

A case of armed robbery and murder is being investigated by police at Alice.

Border Cricket's service manager Deon Muller says Hlatuka was unfortunately at the wrong place at the wrong time.

He said Hlatuka was earmarked for bigger things as he had just attended the Eastern Cape Refresher Level 2 course in order to qualify for the National Level 3 coaching course later this year.

Muller said his commitment and loyalty to the Alice Region of the Eastern Cape would be a big loss.
