Port Elizabeth Police are searching for those responsible for the looting of a business in Greenbushes on Wednesday morning.
Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says protesters broke down a wall at Imperial Logistics to gain access to the building.
They also set alight four vehicles.
Captain Janse van Rensburg says no-one has been arrested and there's a strong police presence in the area.
The protest action flared up on Old Cape Road in the Greenbushes area before sunrise.
Meanwhile, the Greater Kei Municipality says its municipal building in Komga has been severely damaged in a fire, due to suspected protest action.
A garbage truck was also set alight.
