Body washes up on Mossel Bay beach

Police in Mossel Bay have opened up an inquest docket after the body of a man washed up on Diaz Beach shortly after midnight on Friday.

Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says a security guard came across the body and alerted police.

He says the body was positively identified as the 20-year-old Amkelo Mzi who went missing on Sunday.

Mzi was swimming with friends last weekend when he went missing.
