Body of unknown man found drifting in river near George

The body of an unknown man was found drifting in a river in Thembalethu near George, has still not been identified.

Fishermen discovered the decomposed body at one of the fishing spots at the sea bordering on farms at the back of the Philendaba area.

Two passersby discovered the body while walking on the railway next to the river. Police said due to the advanced state of decomposition they had little information on the man’s race and how he died.

The deceased wore a blue striped T-shirt and trousers. This is the second body that was found in Thembalethu in a week.

Police opened inquest dockets in both cases.
