The body of a South African woman who died in China has been repatriated back to her home in Mossel Bay.
Twenty-seven-year-old Lusanda Sixaxeni worked in China as an English teacher for the last three years before her death on the 12th of September this year.
Chinese Authorities were going to cremate Sixaxeni's remains which is against the family's beliefs and wishes, however, they were told they would need to raise about R400 000 to bring Lusanda's body back to the country.
The family managed to get the money together with the help of Mossel Bay residents and other South Africans to bring Sixaxeni's body home.
Her remains arrived in the country on Monday and were transported to her family home in KwaNonqaba on Tuesday.
Sixaxeni's cause of death is not yet known.
The former pupil from Point High School will be laid to rest on Saturday.
