Body of newborn found in Kwanobuhle field

Police in Kwanobuhle in Uitenhage are investigating a case of concealment of birth.

This, after the body of a newborn baby was found in a field near a creche by a passerby on Friday morning.

Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei, says the man told a teacher at the creche who then alerted the police.

He says anyone who may have information on the whereabouts of the mother should contact their nearest police station.
