Port Elizabeth police are investigating a car hijacking on the same corner where a man was shot dead during another hijacking on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Captain Johan Rheeder, says a 27-year-old man reported that his car was hijacked while he waited at the traffic lights on the corner of Uitenhage Road and St Leonard Street around 8.30pm on Thursday night.
He says the assailant, who was armed with a knife, allegedly tied the complainant's hands with a belt before ordering him to run.
Rheeder says the victim said that the hijacker then fled in his Green Mazda 323 with the registration, BRF 115 EC.
This hijacking came just hours after 65-year-old, Hassan Farrah Mahamad, was shot dead after four men took a he was selling for a test driver.
Police are appealing to the public to be extra vigilant this time of the year.
