The body of a man who was swept away by strong currents while trying to cross the Sundays River near Port Elizabeth was found on Monday morning.
Police spokesperson, Andre' Beetge said 35-year-old Imraan Yousaf's body was found by his family at about 7 am while patrolling the nearby beach.
Beetge said his body was found about one kilometre away from where he was caught in strong rip currents on Sunday.
According to NSRI Port Elizabeth Station Commander, Ian Gray, their duty crew and Nelson Mandela Bay Water Rescue Network were activated at 6:15 pm while Blue Water Bay Surf Lifesaving lifeguards immediately responded.
On arrival on the scene, the lifeguards found two men out the water who only sustained minor injuries.
Captain Beetge said police are investigating an inquest docket.
