The body of a 12 year-old girl from Jeffrey's Bay, who went missing while swimming in the Paradise Beach Lagoon outside the town, has been found.
The spokesperson for the National Sea Rescue Institute, Craig Lambinon says the body was recovered by police divers during a search on Monday.
Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Basil Seekoei, said a family from Jefferey's Bay visited the lagoon on Sunday afternoon and two girls aged 11 and 12 went swimming.
He says the 11 year-old had screamed for help after getting into difficulty and was rescued by a family member.
However, Seekoei said by then the 12 year-old had already disappeared under the water.
