Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of murder, after the body of 18-year old Amanda Mntumni was found near a forest in Centane.
Police spokesperson, Capt. Jackson Manatha says she and her boyfriend were accosted at a tarvern in Butterworth on Sunday, 1 April 2012 when they were robbed of their cellphones by two suspects.
He says the 19-year old boyfriend was released, but Mtumni was kidnapped by the men.
Manatha says a group of young boys, who were looking for sheep and goats, found a decomposed body of a woman near the forest on Wednesday.
He says the body was positively identified by relatives.
No arrests have yet been made.
