Gelvandale detectives have launched a manhunt for the suspect involved in the gruesome killing of a 26-year-old Port Elizabeth woman.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu, says the body of Lawren Jonathan was discovered by a resident on an open field in Thornton Street in Schauderville before 8 am on Friday.
Naidu says, the victim, who hails from the Korsten area, was discovered with multiple stab wounds all over her body.
According to Lauren’s family, she left home at 7.30 pm on Thursday to visit a friend in Schauderville but never returned home.
It is believed that she left the friend’s house at some point but the time thereof is unknown.
Naidu says the circumstances surrounding the brutal killing is unknown and urges anyone who may have information to come forward.
