Residents of Little Brak River in the Garden Route have discovered the body of a young woman, believed to be that of a missing teenager.
This, after family members of 17-year-old Lesley-Ann Maya kept up the search for her since she disappeared on Friday 10 April.
She was last seen alive wearing her pyjamas in Powertown near Little Brak River that night when she told her mother that she was going out for a short while but then never returned.
In an interview with Algoa FM News this past week her mother, Remona, pleaded for her daughter's safe return.
A family member said that they had continued searching the neighbourhood on Saturday afternoon and the body was found near a river.
DNA tests must still be done to confirm if the body is that of the missing teenager.
