The man who was found dead in the boot of a car that was used as a get-away vehicle during a robbery in Uitenhage this week has still not been identified.
Police spokesperson, Sergeant Majola Nkohli, says that they're appealing to anyone who can assist in his identification to contact Uitenhage police.
The man's body was discovered after several robbery suspects were arrested following a shoot-out with police on Wednesday in Park Lane.
They had allegedly robbed a supermarket in Caledon Street earlier.
Nkohli says the Independent Police Investigative Directorate will not be investigating the matter as initially reported, and that an experienced officer is leading the investigation.
He also says that police will not be commenting further on the case up until the three suspects make their first court appearance on Monday.
The three men aged between 24 and 36 will be charged with business robbery and attempted murder.
