The UDM's Mongameli Bobani has been ousted as the executive mayor of Nelson Mandela Bay.
This followed a motion of no confidence in him tabled at a Council meeting on Thursday.
The overwhelming majority of councillors from DA, PA, ANC and Cope voted in favour of the motion while the EFF abstained.
After the votes were cast, Bobani gathered his files and documents and left the Chamber while Council business continued.
