Two of Knysna's beaches have officially been recognised as among the best in the world.
Knysna's Buffel's Bay- and Brenton on Sea beaches have officially been awarded Blue Flag status.
The chairperson of the Knysna Tourism Board, Greg Vogt, says it is a great honour that the rest of the world is recognising the beaches for the pristine gems that they are.
He says there are 36 Blue Flag beaches along the South African coastline.
He says with nine Blue Flags flying on beaches between Mosselbay and Bitou - two are now located within the greater Knysna area.
