A woman and her two teenage children who were found dead in their home in Bloemfontein a week ago will be laid to rest in the Eastern Cape this weekend.
The 50-year-old Cindy Kagande, her 56-year-old husband Terry and their two children were found dead in their home in Willows.
Police responded to reports of a house on fire and later determined that 17-year-old Jade and her 13-year-old brother Isaiah's throats had been slit before the house was set alight.
Colonel Thandi Mbambo said there was no forced entry into the house and that a case of murder, arson and an inquest were been investigated.
Forensic teams at the Kagande's house in Bloemfontein a week ago.
Cindy's sister spoke to our sister station OFM News on the condition that her name is not mentioned.
She said her heart was broken, and the situation was too difficult to talk about.
She described Cindy as a friendly and kind person, who never judged or looked down on anybody.
"Cindy was known for always being ready to help even if it means she has to share the little she has."
Cindy spoke to her younger sister the night before the tragedy and everything seemed to be in order.
OFM News earlier reported that the official funeral arrangements had split family members of the deceased in two with attempts to contact Terry's family proving unsuccessful.
