Oscar Pistorius' lawyers are continuing to negotiate an out-of court settlement with the representatives of the parents of his slain girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.
According to media reports this could see the double-amputee runner paying in the region of 275 000 dollars to the Steenkamp family that's just over 3 million rand.
Steenkamp family advocate, Dup de Bruyn, says discussions started around August last year.
Law professor Stephen Tuson says Pistorius could seek non-disclosure clauses in any settlement - meaning he does not admit any fault.
Tuson said, however, that any settlement might still be used for cross-examination of the blade runner by the prosecution if he
testifies at his trial
Pistorius denies deliberately killing the 29-year-old model at his home in Pretoria on Valentine’s Day last year.
His murder trial is due to start on the 3rd of March.
