The Democratic Alliance in the Eastern Cape says it has managed to secure debate in the provincial legislature on the Grahamstown water crisis.
DA MPL, Dacre Haddon, says despite the reticence of the ruling party, the debate will take place on the 12th of September.
He also said that while there has been some progress in solving some of the water problems in Makana the Legislature needs to resolve on clear plans with set time-frames, funding and follow-through.
He says this will ensure that the Makana problems which lead to threats of Rhodes University closing, is not repeated.
