The Eastern Cape government has injected R16,3 million into 4 universities in the province.
Premier Phumulo Musualle engaged with Chancellors from the university of Fort Hare, Rhodes, Nelson Mandela Metropolitan and Walter Sisulu Universities in East London today.
Musualle said the assistance will enable students to register for this academic year and for those who are done studying to receive their results.
"We want to take the opportunity to issue a call to parents and learners to embrace this opportunity"
Musualle added that SRC members have also agreed to the offer and that there won't be any student disruptions during and after registration.
"We did make the appeal to look at the matters of violent protests, which is the unfortunate consequence. It remains a burden on Universities"
