Bike club asks not to be judged after Circular Drive attack

Crusaders MC

Allegations of more members of the Crusaders Motorcycle Club (MC) being involved in the so-called Circular Drive attack in Gqeberha are being investigated by police.

Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the investigation is ongoing and no new information is available to the public at this time.

Earlier this week, a 29-year-old member of the Crusaders MC appeared in court on a charge of attempted murder and malicious damage to property.

The suspect, whose name is known to AlgoaFM News, may only be published once an identity parade has been arranged with the victim.

Colonel Naidu could not provide a date for this to take place.

The matter is back in court on the 17th of August.

AlgoaFM News approached the club on allegations that more of their members were involved in the vicious altercation at an accident scene last month.

The club said the matter was sub judice and stood by an earlier statement issued shortly after the incident.

National President for the Crusaders MC, Mark Groenewald, said the incident had shaken them to the core.

He said the club does not condone any form of violence and behaviour resulting in belligerence as depicted in the incident.

Groenewald apologised sincerely on behalf of the club and asked the public not to hold the incident against them.

In a now-viral video, the 29-year-old club member is seen allegedly threatening a 35-year-old woman who was busy filming an altercation involving her boyfriend.
