Nelson Mandela Bay executive mayor, Nqaba Bhanga, says its overalls for him as he kick-starts the Metro’s Service Delivery Outreach programme on Wednesday.
“I am hoping to engage directly with the residents of the Metro,” he announced at a media briefing the day before.
Bhanga said he would be would travelling the length and breadth of Nelson Mandela Bay to meet with residents and to give them an opportunity to raise their grievances with him.
He said he also wanted “input” from communities into how the City is being governed under a new administration.
“Since the Coalition of Good Governance took over the government of the Metro in December 2020, great strides have already been made in improving service delivery and ensuring financial sustainability,” he said.
“Our people deserve a caring government focused on service delivery, spending the publics’ money wisely and ensuring their safety and security. This outreach will not be just another box-ticking effort. It must have tangible results,” the mayor said.
