The Bitou Municipality has announced a preferred bidder to manage the Plettenberg Bay airport.
Bitou mayor, Memory Booysen, said in his latest news letter that Indiza Airport Management was named the preferred bidder of the long-term lease, development and management of Plett Airport.
He said Indiza Airport Management is a majority black-owned BEE-compliant company which operates airports in Pietermaritzburg, Virginia Airport in Durban and Richards Bay.
Mayor Booysen says provided that there are no hiccups, Indiza estimates that they can have flights in place within eight months.
