Buffalo City Metro is currently undertaking the General Valuation of all properties in the Metro area .
This, despite two companies battling it out in court over the R45 million tender for the project.
Buffalo City spokesperson, Thandy Matebese, says they will do away with external service providers and use people in the municipality's employ.
He says the physical inspection of properties is optional and comparative, analytical and other systems may be used, including aerial photography and mass appraisal techniques.
The new valuation roll will be submitted to the Municipal Manager in January next year and will be available for inspection.
