The Buffalo City metro's court application for the demolition of the Enyobeni tavern was successful in the High Court in East London last week.
Twenty-one young people died on 26 June 2022 at the tavern in Scenery Park.
Their deaths made international headlines and an inquest is currently being held into the cause of their death and who may be held liable.
The inquest is currently pending in the magistrates court in Mdantsane.
The metro requested a demolition order for the tavern due to problems with zoning, the structure and their business license.
Owners Siyakhangela and Vuyokazi Ndevu were earlier this year found guilty of selling liquor to underage patrons and were issued with a fine.
Metro spokesperson, Samkelo Ngwenya welcomed the decision and said they would study the order to ensure they interpret it correctly and implement it accordingly.
He said he was aware of the various laws allowing appeals, however, they are hopeful this would not be the case.
