Bay motorist killed in head-on collision with stationary taxi

A 22-year-old man has died after he drove into a stationary Toyota Quantum on Old Grahamstown Road in Nelson Mandela Bay on Monday evening.

Police spokesperson, Captain Sandra Janse Van Rensburg, said the deceased drove head-on into a taxi that was parked in front of a motor dealership, in North End after 9 o clock in the evening.

She said he was driving a maroon Datsun Go and died at the scene, while his passenger sustained minor injuries.

Janse Van Rensburg said the taxi driver sustained no injuries during the accident.

The name of the deceased will be made known at a later stage.
