Bay man missing since 5 April

Detectives in Kabega Park are seeking the community's assistance in tracing a 33-year-old Gqeberha man who went missing on the 5th of April.

Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg says it is alleged that Kyle Andrew Mattheus left his home in Parsonsvlei to go to the shop but never returned home.

She says, five days later Mattheus' mother was contacted by a woman from Mossel Bay.

Captain Janse van Rensburg says when Kyle did not show up by 14 April a missing persons report was opened.

According to his mother, Lynnette Kluyts, he was picked up and went in the direction of Cape Town. She said he got a "lift" going to the Western Cape.

She said he might have mentioned that he was coming home, but they did not travel home.  Kluyts said video footage showed that he was in Mossel Bay at the time.

At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a white t-shirt, blue denim shorts, black takkies, and black hoodie.

Any person with information is urged to contact Detective Sergeant Eugene Bantom on 082 442 1282
