A 51-year-old alleged child pornographer from Gqeberha has been sentenced to nine months in prison for flouting his bail conditions.
The father, who cannot be named to protect the identity of his children was sentenced in the city on Friday.
He was arrested in 2016 when he allegedly uploaded photographs of his twin daughters on the dark web which got the attention of the FBI.
On Monday he was arrested and pleaded guilty to flouting his bail conditions.
He activated social media accounts and made contact with his children without the presence of his estranged wife, as set out in a court order.
The prosecutor now wants to revoke his R10 000 bail in his main trial on the porn-related charges and if successful he will remain behind bars until the case is concluded.
The accused's defense attorney Danie Gouws indicated that he was not ready to proceed with the matter of revoking bail and the case was therefore postponed to the 7th of March.
During the 2016 investigation, police also found images of baby porn on his computer.
In his submission on Thursday in aggravation of sentence for breaching the bail conditions, State Prosecutor Kenny van Biljon noted that during the arrest of the suspect about 10 000 child porn images were found in his possession.
