The Gqeberha accountant accused of stealing more than R40 million from Sunridge Spar as well as R11 million from a franchise in Despatch appeared briefly in the city's Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Jonathan Blow is still in custody, after losing an appeal against his bail refusal.
The case has been transferred to the Specialised Commercial Crimes Court, for possible plea negotiations with the state.
According to court documents, Blow is the sole director of PE Accounting Solutions in Walmer.
He rendered accounting, payroll, and creditor payment services on a monthly basis for an agreed fee.
The offenses are said to have taken place between September 2020 and March last year.
The case was remanded to 15 August.
