The bail application of the Gqeberha businessman accused of being the mastermind behind the murder of his estranged wife Vicki Terblanche will continue on Friday.
Fifty-five-year-old Arnold Terblanche appeared in the PE Magistrates Court on Thursday, where the in-camera testimony of Vicki's son's psychologist was heard.
Rozanne Gower who has been the 12-year-old child's therapist since 2019, was summoned to appear in court to testify on whose care to place the child in, and on what would be in his best interest if the father's bail application is unsuccessful.
Terblanche was in the dock with his two co-accused, Dylan Cullis (24) and Reinhardt Leach (32), who both previously abandoned their bids for bail.
Arnold who was clad in a navy blue blazer, could at one point be seen visibly emotional as Gower testified about his relationship with his son.
Leach, who is a former teacher and boyfriend of the victim, meanwhile, entered the courtroom with a completely shaved head of hair and attentively listened to the evidence throughout the morning.
Prominent Gqeberha attorney, Alwyn Griebenow has been appointed as the new defence counsel for Terblanche who was previously represented by the defence attorney, Danie Gouws, since his arrest in November last year.
Gouws earlier told the court that his mandate was terminated mid-January, but senior counsel, Advocate Francois Van Zyl would continue working on the case.
Terblanche, Leach and Cullis are all being charged with conspiracy to commit murder and murder.
Leach and Cullis face additional charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances, unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition, defeating the ends of Justice as well as possession of drugs.
Forty-two-year-old Vicki Terblanche's body was found in a shallow grave in Greenbushes less than 48-hours after Leach had reported her as missing in October last year.
According to the State, she was given a Schedule 6 drug before she was smothered with a pillow.
