A baby girl believed to be a week old is currently in a local hospital in Knysna, after she was found by a passerby in the bushes near Green Street.
Spokesperson Captain Malcolm Pojie says the little girl was discovered just before 3 pm on Monday afternoon.
The good samaritan took the baby to the Knysna SAPS community centre where efforts were made to try and find the parents.
Pojie says they are investigating a case of child neglect but more charges could be added.
