Trade and Industry Minister Rob Davies will deliver the keynote address at the launch of the Eastern Cape's automotive cluster supportive initiative in Port Elizabeth on Monday.
The initiative was announced by Eastern Cape Economic Development MEC, Mcebisi Jonas, earlier this year.
The automotive cluster supportive initiative aims to drive government support for a series of priority interventions to support the automotive and component sectors in the Eastern Cape.
Jonas is expected to ouline the key principles underlying the initiative as well as the core programmes to be implemented in the automotive sector.
The Eastern Cape is home to four of the country's motor manufacturers as well as 80 major automotive suppliers and more than a thousand other companies in the value chain.
