Authorities are busy gathering the particulars of the seven people killed in Monday morning's road smash between Bisho and Komga.
Provincial traffic spokesperson, Tsepo Machaya, says the deceased were four women and three men.
The accident happened at about 5.20am when a Toyota Venture rode into the back of a truck.
Seven people died instantly and three others were admitted to hospital.
In a black weekend on Eastern Cape Roads, 17 people were killed in a number of accidents from Friday through to this morning.
Another 17 people were killed in road accidents elsewhere in the country - including the ten who died in KZN when their bus crashed after returning home from the traditional reed dance ceremony.
