Police in the Garden Route are searching for five suspects who robbed the Hartenbos Supermarket in Cape De Goede Hoop Avenue on Wednesday morning.
Spokesperson Warrant Officer Kappie Kapp says the robbery took place at about 10 am.
He says one of the suspects had a firearm and robbed the supermarket of an undisclosed amount of cash, cigarettes and a cellphone, before fleeing in a white Citi Golf.
The vehicle was later found abandoned in Kwanonqaba in Mossel Bay, shortly after the robbery.
No arrests have been made and police are investigating a case of armed robbery.
