Three men, who allegedly robbed a taxi driver and his assistant, will appear in the Port Elizabeth magistrate's court on Thursday.
Police spokesperson, Colonel Priscilla Naidu says the suspects jumped into the taxi at two different stops in Bethelsdorp and threatened the two with firearms.
She says the taxi driver, who knew the suspects, drove into oncoming traffic in Standford Road in an attempt to stop the vehicle.
The driver and suspects then ran in different directions.
Naidu says they stole a small amount of money and a cellphone and were later arrested at their houses.
She says one of the suspects was found in his house in Bethelsdorp, hiding in a closet.
No firearms were recovered.
