Eastern Cape police are investigating a case of robbery with aggravating circumstances after at least 10 men stormed into a Wind Farm site in Oyster Bay on Saturday.
Police Spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli says the men were all armed and attacked the security guard at the Wind Farm, situated outside Humansdorp.
He says the suspects allegedly broke padlocks of containers, stealing nine rolls of copper cables valued at R 1.8 million.
The suspects fled in two unknown vehicles.
Sergeant Nkohli says any person with information that can assist in their investigation is urged to contact their local SAPS.
The Windfarm project in Oyster Bay was awarded to the Enel Group and is supported by a power agreement with Eskom, valid for two decades
The plant in Oyster Bay in the Eastern Cape should commence full operation in the second quarter of 2021.
