A second truck has been torched on Wednesday, this time on the R75 in ongoing service delivery protests across the Nelson Mandela Bay.
Police spokesperson, Captain Andre Beetge, says the incident took place at the monument crossing at the R335, just before 2 pm.
Earlier, Beetge said that a group of people dispersed shortly after setting a truck alight on the R335, near the cemetery in Motherwell.
In the past 24 hours, at least five trucks and three Algoa buses have been destroyed and burnt.
Police urge both truck and bus drivers to steer clear of these roads as it appears their vehicles are being targeted.
On Tuesday the Nelson Mandela Bay Business Chamber expressed its concerns about the adverse effects of the strike on the local economy.
The Acting CEO of the Chamber Prince Matonsi says the destruction of and damage to infrastructure and property is both expensive and regressive and the city, the residents and the larger economy will take a long time to recover fully.
