A 46-year-old man made a brief appearance in the Ngcobo Magistrate's court on Tuesday in connection the murder of the five police officers and a soldier last week.
On Monday four other suspects appeared in the same court in connection with last Wednesday's attack on the Ngcobo police station.
Hawks Eastern Cape spokesperson, Captain Anelisa, said that "other charges that have been added against the suspect include among others attempted murder, housebreaking, robbery and malicious damage to property."
"The suspect will be joining the other four suspects aged between 20 and 30 who also appeared at the Magistrate Court in Engcobo on Monday facing the same charges," said.
Captain Feni said Andani Monco (30), Siphosomzi Tshefu (24), Kwanele Ndlwane (22) and Siphesihle Tatsi (20) will appear again on the on the 08 March 2018 for a formal bail application.
"At least 10 suspects were arrested last week Friday following a shootout with the police. Five of the suspects have since been released however investigations into their involvement are still continuing," she added.
